Massaging (touching) from a holistic point of view, means that not only the physical gets some much needed attention, but everything that you are, feel, think or believe is touched. Everything is connected and can not be seen as separate.
Physical complaints like fatigue, stress and injuries play a preventive role. The body gives us a signal that there's a dis-balance on a mental, emotional, spiritual or social level. The signal is often registered as unwanted and considered a burden from which we'd like to be released without connecting to ourselves, to what our bodies are trying to tell us.
Experiences are stored in our memory, but also in our body. How we view life is sometimes visible in our body language. The massage isn't focussed on clearing the physical complaint, but to create space to connect to ourselves. It's a way to feel what's here and now and to get in touch with how you feel. I see it as being observant within yourself. Observing is registering without judging. This attitude clears the way for true connection to happen.
